# Essential Education Group: commissioning conversation guide

## Choose the route

- **Home Edition:** discuss an individual specialist teaching and transition pathway.
- **School Edition:** discuss organisational improvement, SEND audit, consultancy or professional learning across a setting or group of settings.

## Useful first-enquiry information

Your name, organisation, work email, service interest, broad location, general age/educational phase where relevant and the change you want to achieve.

Do not send learner names, diagnoses, EHCPs, safeguarding information or private case documents through an initial public enquiry. Agree a secure referral and information-sharing route first.

## Questions to resolve in scoping

- What are the intended educational or organisational outcomes?
- What arrangements and support already exist?
- What is the provider being asked to contribute, and what is outside its scope?
- What competence, capacity, staffing, venue and professional input are needed?
- What timetable, delivery evidence, review and handover should be agreed?
- Who authorises the commission and pays for it?
- What price assumptions, travel, reporting, meetings, cancellation terms and VAT treatment apply?

## Home Edition deliverables to discuss

A baseline covering learning, social/emotional understanding and transition priorities; an individual teaching/transition plan; visit and delivery records; regular summaries; and a review/outcome report with next-step recommendations.

Duration, intensity and review dates are individual. The provider’s contribution is agreed within the learner’s complete education arrangements.

## School Edition deliverables to discuss

A diagnostic scope, stakeholder engagement, findings, priorities, action owners, implementation support, professional learning and review evidence.

Consider the five Embedded Practice dimensions: Vision & Leadership; Clarity of Need & Assessment; Pedagogy & Curriculum; People & Professional Capacity; Culture, Belonging & Community.

## Before delivery

Confirm the applicable competence/vetting, safeguarding, insurance, safe delivery and information-handling arrangements, along with written scope and funding authority. A conditional offer does not by itself authorise a first session.

Request the actual documents relevant to the scope. Do not rely on a public website as proof that every check is complete.
